M.A. Counselling Psychology

Certified Canadian Counsellor
As a Registered Social Worker and Counsellor with a Master's in Counselling Psychology, Angela offers a unique blend of evidence-based and creative therapeutic approaches. Specializing in children and families, Angela integrates multiple modalities to create individualized treatment plans to promote growth and healing. Her practice is enhanced by animal-assisted therapy, incorporating horses, gerbils, birds, and a hedgehog into sessions when appropriate.
Animals play a crucial role in therapy, offering comfort, reducing anxiety, and facilitating emotional expression. They can help build trust, improve communication skills, and provide a non-judgmental presence that encourages openness and growth in both children and adults.
Angela is deeply committed to the well-being of children and families, bringing a sincere, authentic, and compassionate approach to each session. By combining traditional therapeutic techniques with innovative animal-assisted interventions, she provides a safe and creative space where families can explore, heal, and grow together.
Children learn best through the natural world. Angela uses the transformative powers of play, nature, and animal-assisted interventions to create connections and attachments to the world around them. Animals, as co-therapists, can work alongside the therapist to build relationships and trust through their unconditional love and acceptance. Angela believes clients are integral to the change and transformation process, and she always ensures they are the drivers in the process and the deep healing that takes place.
Her goal is to support each client's unique journey toward emotional well-being, utilizing a tailored combination of therapeutic modalities that best suits their individual needs and preferences within the family context.
